Sunday’s Coming ~ October 2, 2016

This week’s verse is 1 Timothy 3:1, “The saying is trustworthy, if anyone aspires to the office of overseer, that one desires a noble task.”

At first glance, it seems odd that human church leadership would rise to “The Top 5” list of the most important things Paul wants to leave behind for Timothy.  But, as we’ll see, everything rises and falls on leadership.  You know this from virtually every group you’ve been part of.  There must be leadership to get things done.  And, with the long view for the church, there is no success without succession.

Children’s Ministry Sunday School Snip-It (September 25, 2016)

This past Sunday the kids were reminded how God’s Word is powerful. When Ezra read God’s Word, the people changed their ways and loved God more. The Bible says that Jesus is “the Word.” Jesus is God the Son who came to live with people on earth. Jesus has the power to change our hearts.Men, women, and children gathered to …

Sunday’s Coming ~ September 25, 2016

They say that faith is only as good as the object it is placed in.  So today what is there that is trustworthy?  We’ve all been let down by politicians, technology, and even the people we love at different times.  We’ve learned to be skeptical of what we read on the internet, and no one wants to be gullible.  We’ve even learned that we can’t always trust ourselves.  So what’s left to trust in?

Children’s Ministry Sunday School Snip-it (Sept. 18, 2016)

Jerusalem’s Walls Rebuilt This past week in Sunday school we saw how Nehemiah led the people to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem to protect them from their enemies. Jesus came to protect us from our enemies. He died on the cross and rose from the dead to rescue people from sin and death. With God’s help and Nehemiah’s leadership, the Jews …

Sunday’s Coming ~ September 18, 2016

This week we focus on the church as the hope of Christ in the world.  We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Rev. Titus Baraka to preach this message.  Titus is our mission partner in Uganda, where he leads Words of Hope Uganda, directs mission in the entire country for the Church of Uganda, and continues his ministry with College Students at Uganda Christian University, having begun Bethesda Christian Ministries Uganda.

Sunday’s Coming ~ September 11, 2016

This week we will focus on community.  Jesus says that wherever two or three gather in his name, he is there.  Church is there!  The first followers of Jesus enjoyed a robust, rich, and deep sense of community.  As the church entered its third and fourth decades, a constant reminder by the Apostles was for the church to be hospitable, to love one another, to care for one another.  The repeated emphasis came in the wake of divisions, jealousies, and just plain stubbornness.

Sunday’s Coming ~ Sept 4, 2016

We are discovering that Trinity is more than an Orange City church, with members and visitors from a 20-mile radius in Northwest Iowa.  We are honored to share Christ in our region and are praying for a move of God in each community.   That brings us to our Fall worship series: “Here’s the Church.”  Our worship through September 18 …
