We jump into the last several Wednesday nights for this school year here in April. Our teaching series will spotlight mental health and spiritual disciplines and how these two things are connected. We hope to help students, whether they struggle with mental health or not, understand that God’s desire for us is wholeness and healing. This doesn’t mean that we should pray harder or read our Bible more often (although those things are good), but it does mean that if God wants us to experience shalom, we can be honest with our current mental health and relax into God’s presence. This alone, honesty and practicing being in the presence of God, will be a big help on our mental health journey.
We’ll also have a few unique nights as we close the semester. The Seder meal will usher us into God’s presence as we celebrate holy week together by reenacting the Last Supper. Then we’ll do a small group night at the end of April – a whole night to hang out with just your small group. Students always love those nights! Our final night of youth group comes on May 7th. That’s when the 8th and 12th graders will lead their respective groups. We also wrap up Sunday morning Bible studies this month and look to take a programmatic break for the summer. That allows us to turn our attention to the summer trips!
Both the high school and middle school mission trip registrations are open, so please get registered with the links below if your student wants to attend. High schoolers are headed to Mescalero, New Mexico, and middle schoolers will be back in the Twin Cities. We are already fundraising and praying for the work that God has for us, and the people we will meet along the way. Here’s to a warm and fun April! Happy Easter!
