This Week at Trinity
College Lunch: We are looking for volunteers to provide food, to serve, and to help clean up after the college lunch on Sunday, Jan. 26. Please sign up online. (We are still in need of 30 side dishes, 4 servers, and 8 clean up volunteers.) Food can be dropped off Sunday morning by 11am. We ask that those helping with clean up arrive by 12:15.
Dwelling in the Word: Starting this Wednesday (January 22), join Pastor Brian and Prof. Jeff Barker on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 as they share tips and practices to help you memorize Scripture. God’s Word has the power to change us from the inside out. Paul instructs us to “let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly!” (Col. 3:16). Our focus this year is Paul’s letter to the Philippians! Even if you think you can’t memorize, this class is for you! We will meet in Adult Room 1. Please sign up online before the class starts.
Uganda Trip Deadline: Please talk to Pastor Bob or Michael Simmelink if you are interested in learning more, or participating in, our summer trip to Uganda this summer. If you hope to attend, a registration deposit of $100 is needed by this Friday, January 24.
Scripture & Experience Guides: This Sunday (January 26) we begin a 10-week series on the book of Philippians. We invite you to pick up a Scripture & Experience Guide booklet in the office this week or in the fellowship hall on Sunday. Our hope is that you will use the guide to engage with scripture in the week leading up to each sermon.
With Joy | Sunday Morning Supplement: Starting this Sunday (January 26) at 9:30am in Adult Rooms 3&4, join us as we further engage the upcoming sermon series, “With Joy”. Various facilitators and teachers will provide space for additional commentary and discussion around the book of Philippians. If you would like to journey through this series with others, we invite you to plug in here. Please pick up a Scripture & Experience Guide as a resource for this class, and sign up online to let us know you will be joining us.
CenterPoint Worship: Join us at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center on Sunday, January 26 at 7:30pm for a time of prayer and worship with people across the Northwest Iowa region. All are welcome to come and join us in worship.

Trinity Centennial Book: We have created a centennial book to commemorate Trinity’s 100th year of ministry. The book includes a recap of 2019 and ministry highlights and history from the last 100 years. We hope to order the books in February. You can order a copy of the book online or at the Welcome Center. Each book costs $8.
Chili Cook-Off – February 5: Calling all cooks! Time to test your skills and bless others with a chili cook-off at our February 5 Wednesday Night Meal. Participants will be asked to bring a large pot of chili to share. Chili categories include hot, mild, and unique. A winner will be selected from each category. Pizza Fundraiser: A Life Group from Trinity has organized a pizza fundraiser to raise money for a new schoolhouse at Hope Christian High School in Uganda. $10 per 12″ pizza. Options include beef, sausage, pepperoni, and breakfast pizza. You can order pizzas online or at the Welcome Center. Pizza pick up is on Saturday, February 1 between 9am and noon. Wheelchair Ministry (Hope Haven): Trinity is partnering with Hope Haven International to help build the padded parts of wheelchairs they send to children and adults in need all over the world. Sign up online for more information or to serve with this ministry in the coming year.
Men’s Summit Retreat: Join us for a weekend retreat at Lake Benton, MN February 21-23. Tom Henderson will lead us in what it means to live a life of obedience as we follow Christ. We hope you will join us for this time of rest and renewal with other men from Trinity. Register online by February 12.
Engage Global: The Mission team is inviting you to participate in this weekend on February 14-16 in Minneapolis. Those who have gone say this experience will encourage, motivate, & challenge us individually & corporately to live for the advance of the Gospel. Participants will experience different cultures, good missionary teaching & food. It is fun – yet challenging. Talk to Pastor Bob if you are interested.
