Sunday Recap – December 22

On Sunday, Michelle Christy preached from John 1:14-16, focusing on the story of Christmas – that God wrapped himself in flesh to become one of us, fully human. In great compassion and a desire to be restored to his own, God became man so that he could be our God and we could be his people.

Announcements

Men’s Ministry Leadership Team: Would you like to be a part of one of the teams that lead and oversee different aspects of the Men’s Ministry at Trinity?  Please talk to Shay Davis or Pastor Bob (bobbyd.db@gmail.com) to hear more about being a part of a spiritual growth, events, outreach or the service team.

Living A Better Story: Join Rachel Valentine on Wednesday nights for four weeks of ‘Living a Better Story’. We will explore the sacred work of acquainting with the emotional soul – the self that is the combination of emotion, memory, physical body, and connection with others. These are the very things that keep us stuck – and set us free. It is from these collective parts that we live out the story of our creation, fall, and radical redemption in Jesus Christ each day. We invite you to join us as we create space and invite curiosity around the stories of our soul and how Scripture might inform our stories. This class will meet January 15 – February 5 at 6:30pm in Adult Rooms 3&4. Please register online or at the Welcome Center.

Dog Sled Race Service Opportunity: Our Men’s Ministry has an opportunity again this year to partner with one of our ministry partners, Coldwater Foundation, at the Gunflint Mail Run Dog Sled Race in Grand Marais, MN. After the race, men on the trip will share in fireside fellowship and have the opportunity to snow shoe, cross country ski, or ice fish at beautiful Mink Lake Wilderness Camp. Our weekend trip will run from Jan. 10-12, leaving at 6am on Friday and arriving home by 9pm on Sunday. Cost to attend is $75. Please register online by Dec. 29. If you have any questions, contact Shay Davis at 712-541-5279 or Pastor Bob at bobbyd.db@gmail.com.

Men’s Summit Retreat: Join us for a weekend retreat at Lake Benton, MN February 21-23. Tom Henderson will lead us in what it means to live a life of obedience as we follow Christ. We hope you will join us for this time of rest and renewal with other men from Trinity. Register online by February 12.
