Sunday Recap – July 28

Yesterday was the ninth Sunday in our sermon series God’s Story, Our Story. Jim Mead preached from Hebrews 11:35 & 2 Kings 4:8-37, sharing with us the story of the Shunammite woman.

Announcements

NWC Athletic Feed: Trinity is hosting an NWC Athletic Feed on Tuesday, August 13 at 5pm. We are looking for several volunteers to provide food, serve, and clean up. If you are willing to serve/donate in any of these capacities, please sign up HERE.

Regional Ministry Updates: This week, during a special meeting of the East Sioux Classis, we passed another milestone in moving towards enfolding. The East Sioux Classis voted by an overwhelming majority to approve First Reformed Church of Hospers and Trinity to become one church in two locations. There was also a time of prayer for our churches, asking God to help us reach those who aren’t connected with any church and to care well for those who are currently in our churches.

The Transition Team continues to meet with different committees to begin to flesh out how our ministries will look in the coming year. The Search Team is in the middle of first round interviews for the Hospers Campus Pastor position and is encouraged by the great pool of candidates who have applied. Please continue to lift both teams up in prayer.

Men’s Wilderness Excursion: Men, be sure to block off September 18-21 to head up to beautiful Grand Marais, Minnesota and Camp Mink for a time of refreshment and adventure. We are offering 3 different opportunities during this time:

1. Canoe Trip – A paddle and portage experience with a guide and planned itinerary.

2. Biking Trip – A mountain biking experience on trails in the region.

3. In Camp – An opportunity to serve at Camp Mink with our ministry partner Coldwater. Times of rest, fishing, hiking are a part of this.

We will offer a few informational meetings in August with more information about this.
