Sunday Recap – November 4

Sunday morning was the fourth Sunday of our sermon series ‘Beneath the Surface’.

In his book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, Peter Scazzero writes these provocative words: “Emotional health and spiritual maturity are inseparable.  It is not possible to be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature.”  Most often, the places where we get stuck in our spiritual journey and the health of our relationships is beneath the surface, where we lack awareness.  We don’t know what we don’t know.  But what if God wants to heal and transform you from deep within?  What if you could really live more fully into God’s design for your life and your relationships?

Upcoming Events

Escape Room Event: Join us on November 7 & 14 for a fun activity for all ages – escape rooms! Teams will be formed to work together to solve clues and discover the way out of one of our Adult Rooms. To sign up, click HERE. We will email you a half hour time slot after sorting through everyone’s availability.

Trinity Brunch: Every week, there are new people who step through the doors of Trinity. While we celebrate the many people that God is bringing to the church, we know that sometimes it can be hard to get plugged in. The Trinity Brunch is an opportunity for those who have been coming more recently to Trinity to meet some staff and other leaders as well as get connected with others who are new to Trinity. We hope you will join us next week Sunday, Nov. 11 at 10:50 in the fellowship hall.

Wednesday Night Meal: Our next Wednesday night meal is on November 14 from 5:45 to 6:30. Join us in the fellowship hall for Sunday chicken, rice, broccoli, and root beer floats. There is a suggested donation of $2 per person. Please note that the meal has been moved back a week due to state volleyball.

CenterPoint Worship: Join us at Trinity on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8pm for a time of prayer and worship with people across the Northwest Iowa region. All are welcome.

Thanksgiving Eve Service: Trinity will host a community Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 6:30pm. Join us as we worship with Living Water and First Reformed Hospers and give thanks for all of God’s many blessings. Please bring along canned and non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Pantry.

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot: Registration is open for the 2018 Orange City Turkey Trot. The purpose of the race is to mark the Thanksgiving holiday with joyful community through a 5K fun run/walk. Though a 5K course is offered and runners’ times are recorded, the emphasis is on a fun experience for all ages that will raise awareness and resources for mission. The 2018 beneficiaries are Hunger Free Kids of Sioux County and Trinity Youth Missions. To register, visit orangecityturkeytrot.com.

Thanksgiving Day Community Meal: The Thanksgiving Day Community Meal will again be held Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22 at Living Water Community Church in Orange City. Turkey and all the trimmings will be served from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Everyone is invited!

This free meal is only made possible through donations from the community. If you are able to provide pie, a turkey and turkey bakers, bags of fresh cranberries, roasters, or other grocery items, please contact Sandi Vant Hof at 712-230-0537 or secretary@livingwatersheldon.com.
