Sunday’s Coming ~ July 23, 201

Preaching this week is Andy Keller.

To be people of God means to be people of God’s Word.  When God speaks we should listen and orient our lives appropriately.  Yet it’s common that when we sit down to God’s Word, we misunderstand what God is saying because we have taken it out of context.  This summer we have been looking at passages of scripture that we often take out of context to help us understand the richer meaning of what scripture actually says to us.

This week, Andy Keller, Trinity’s director of worship is sharing from Psalm 96, a passage that commands we “sing a new song to the Lord.”  Whether you are musical or not, this passage paints a deep and vivid picture of what it means to worship God, and it helps us better understand what our role is within God’s grand story.
