Sunday’s Coming ~ November 22, 2015

This month we’re walking with a man the Bible introduces as Abram. Soon enough, God changes his name to Abraham. Names mean something. God changes him from Abram, “exalted father,” to Abraham, “father of a multitude.” It is this man who God chose to enter into a relationship by which he intended to bless everyone else. We might say, “Abraham was blessed by God to be a blessing to others.”

This week, our good friend, Rev. Titus Baraka, from Uganda shows us how God’s blessing of Abraham’s family impacted his prayer life for his family.  In Genesis 18, Abraham pleads with God for the life of his nephew, Lot.

As we learned last week, Lot was whiny, greedy, and needy.  Yet, because Abraham had been so loved by God, he could continue to be generous towards him (and all he met).

Who in your family do you wish to pour out prayers to God to intercede?
