BUT FIRST – A “FALL BACK” REMINDER FOR DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night for daylight savings time on Sunday, Nov. 2!
SUNDAY’S COMING
God created us to forever enjoy his glory in perfect communion with him, community with each other, and even harmony with the creation itself. He brought order out of chaos. He created women and men in his own image and gave us instructions to tend and care for the creation. To get married and have babies to sustain, extend, and continue to bring order out of chaos.
Our sin, of course, brought a curse. But God did not forget us or his plan. He gave his only Son, Jesus, to be the perfect sacrifice for sin. Jesus’ death and resurrection reorders all things. He brought redemption to our communion with God. He makes possible our reconciliation with each other, and even reorders and renews creation itself. That’s where we are headed this month: our partnership with Christ in reordering the world out of its chaos into God’s glorious plan for all eternity. We begin a 4-week worship series on the reordering that we are partners in the gospel with:
- re:conciliation (November 2)
- re:creation (November 9)
- re:sources (November 16)
- re:demption (November 23)
HOW ARE WE STEWARDING OUR OFFERINGS TOGETHER IN 2015?
In your church mailbox on Sunday, you will find the November newsletter. You can also click HERE to see it. It’s all about how our deacons are being stewards of the offerings we all bring. In Sunday School (Fellowship Hall), our deacons will share the proposed 2015 budgets. We’ll be voting on these December 7 as a congregation. You are welcome to give them your feedback and they will consider your feedback at their November 3 meeting. As you’ll see, they’ve already spent many hours planning and preparing for the future, and they are excited to share with you the plans. The Newsletter also contains information about new ways you can participate in resourcing the kingdom vision among us.
Our Sunday Morning services start at 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Children and Youth Sunday School will meet between services, 10:00-10:50 a.m.
Children and Worship Children ages 5 through 1st grade will be dismissed during the service and can be picked up after church in the Kid’s Area.
