- Observe beauty in someone’s work and acknowledge it in some way.
- Make something beautiful in your work.
We learned that the Hebrew word for work in Genesis 2 is also used for worship in other texts. Our worship and our work are not as distant as they may seem. Let’s serve God in our places of work this week.

Women’s Bible Study – Respectable Sins
The Women’s Bible Study – Respectable Sins will be meeting this Thursday, June 19th at 2:00 p.m. To prepare for this lesson, please be studying chapters 20-21 and the Respectable Sin of Worldliness, with a follow up to the class with the question “Where do we go from here?”
Sunday School Memory Verses
This summer, each week the K-5 kids can memorize a new verse that goes along with our Summer Sunday School Curriculum. They can stop by church between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to recite the verse to Kristin for a prize.
This weeks verse is: “My brothers and sisters, I am sure that you are full of goodness. What you know is complete. You are able to each one another.” ~Romans 15:14
You’re Invited!
Weddings are not always worship services. This one is and we would like to invite the whole of Trinity Church (kids and all). Hannah Barker and Jackson Nickolay are getting married on July 19 at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity with a reception to immediately follow outdoors. We hope you’ll join with us to thank God for this new family. You don’t normally have to RSVP for a worship service, but this time we need you to let us know you’re coming so we can get some food ready for you. There is a lost and found table set up outside the office, please be sure to stop and check if there’s anything that’s yours. The table will be out this week through Sunday, and after that what is left will be donated. Thanks

Called to Work is an interview with Katherine Leary Alsdorf, founder of Faith and Work.

Humanizing Work through Leadership is a talk by Nancy Ortberg.
What Makes us Feel Good about Work is a TED Talk by Dan Ariely. It contains some illustrations Jon has used.
And Some books…
- Visions of Vocation: Common Grace for the Common Good by Steven Garber. This is a heady read, but very good.
- Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God’s Work by Timothy Keller. This is slightly more practical.
- The Gospel at Work: How working for King Jesus Gives Purpose and Meaning to Our Jobs by Sebastian Traeger and Greg Gilbert. This book is the most practical of the three.
