Sunday’s Coming ~ November 13, 21016

Worship this week brings us to two people who were in over their head.  A simple, ordinary man from an unheard of small town God calls to confront the most powerful king in the region.  A woman – well, not just a woman, but a widow – and, not just a widow, but a single mom who is at the end of her rope and ready to give up, ready to even die.  At that very moment, she is asked to give up one more thing.  What must be going through her head?  What would be going through yours?

The story of Jesus’ birth is usually told in December, although we do not truly know Jesus’ actual birth date. Sometimes the story of Jesus’ birth gets …

Sunday’s Coming ~ November 6, 2016

This week we look at what it means to be in over our heads through the life of Gideon. Not only was he overwhelmed by his day-to-day tasks, but this guy was absolutely in over his head when God asked him to lead 300 men against the entire army of Midian.  Each day Gideon kept losing more control of his life, but it was only under God’s control when Gideon was able to truly live.

Children’s Ministry Sunday School Snip-It (Oct. 31, 2016)

Yesterday’s Bible story wasabout John’s birth. Shortly after Mary left Elizabeth and returned home, the time came for Elizabeth to give birth to her baby. For the duration of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, her husband, Zechariah, had been mute. His inability to speak was punishment for his doubting the angel who foretold John’s birth. (See Luke 1:20.) Elizabeth gave birth to a …
