February is flying by! Registrations for all spring and summer trips are still open, but the Middle School Retreat registration will close by the first of March. Check out our youth page and click on the appropriate links for all our trips.
Our current teaching series is a great one! We’re calling it “Enough”, and it’s about a subtle topic: working for God instead of being with God. In our fast-paced, hyper-connected, driven world, it’s easy for us to get lost in the work of the gospel (or the work of building a successful and meaningful life), and miss the God of that gospel. God calls us to relationship with Him and with others. And though our intentions are really great, sometimes we can miss the forest for the trees. This series will not promote laziness or downplay responsibility and hard work. But it will help students think deeply about the ladders they climb, why they climb them, and how they might begin to adjust their priorities in order to be with Jesus rather than simply be busy for Jesus. At home, go ahead and start this conversation about climbing ladders. Where have you done this in your life? What did you miss because you were so focused on producing and getting things done? How have you learned to practice the presence of God rather than do things for God? Should be a great discussion!
