This Week at Trinity

Living Free Women’s Bible Study: Starting October 16, join us at Trinity for ‘Living Free’, a 7-week Bible Study for women of all ages. We can’t please God by being perfect, nor by focusing on our sin and inadequacies. Ready to replace false strongholds with true freedom in Christ? A steady gaze God-ward is the only focus that will change our lives. We’ll explore five benefits God supplies us by His grace! Register online. For more information, email michellechristy.trinity@gmail.com.

Faithwalking Retreat: What if God has more for your life and relationships than just “It’s fine”? What if God is calling you into an adventure of transformation that leads to being more fully alive? A life on mission with God? Pastor Brian is excited to offer Trinity’s second Faithwalking Retreat October 18-20. It will be local, so you will go home each night to sleep in your own bed. We’ll explore topics like integrity and authenticity, and how to get unstuck from your default patterns so that you can be more fully who God designed you to be. You will not be the same after this retreat! Cost is $30/person. Scholarships are available. Register online by October 15.

One Church | One Voice: There will be another time of worship and fellowship for the congregations of Trinity and First Hospers on Sunday, October 20 from 6:30-8:00pm. This time we will worship together in Hospers. We hope you come out for a time of building up our two churches as we move towards becoming one church in two locations.

Hospers Campus Launch Meeting: We are less than 11 weeks away from enfolding with First Reformed Church of Hospers! As the enfolding gets closer, we want to give people the opportunity to find out how they can be a part of launching this new campus. This Sunday, Oct. 20 at 10:50amwe will have an informational meeting about how you can participate in the Trinity Hospers campus launch. We encourage you to consider participating in the launch as it’s an amazing opportunity to be engaged in mission in our region.

We will meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm in Adult Rooms 3&4. We encourage you to purchase your own copy of the book, and ask that you register online before the study starts.

Women’s Service Opportunity: The women’s ministry team at Trinity is offering a community service opportunity on Saturday, October 26! We’ll start the morning with breakfast at 8:30am, and then you can choose to sort coats and winter gear at Zestos or pack snacks for local kids through the OC Sack Pack Program. Register online by October 21.

Zestos Coat Drive: We are collecting used coats and other winter items (snow pants/boots, hats, gloves, etc.) to donate to local adults and kids in need. Please drop off donations in the gray bins inside Trinity’s main entrance by Saturday, Oct. 26. All sizes are welcome. No rips, holes, or broken zippers please.

Family Crisis Centers Collection Drive: Last year, Family Crisis Centers provided hope & help to over 1,200 people seeking services, and answered over 34,000 calls across the state of Iowa. Those who reached out were suffering from domestic violence, human trafficking, homicide, and many other violent crimes. During the month of October, we are hosting a collection drive at Trinity to benefit those who the FCC serves. There is a table in the fellowship hall with more information about FCC and the collection drive. Each year, this drive blesses several families in our immediate area, and helps FCC provide daily necessities for the families in shelter during the long winter season.

Abundance Series Devotionals: We’re starting a five week sermon series at Trinity on October 27 called “Abundance: Moving Toward a Life of Generosity”. If you would like to further engage the series, we encourage you to purchase a copy of Gordon MacDonald’s generosity devotional on our website or app for $5. There will be an opportunity to engage the material with others on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 10:50 in Adult Rooms 3&4. These discussion groups will meet throughout the series. Life Groups are also encouraged to engage the book together.
