This Week In Lighthouse Kids (Nov. 16, 2016)

K-2nd Grade –

The fear of the Lord means to be in awe of God’s worth and position. Psalm 89:6-7 say For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord?  Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?  In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surrounded him. This week the kids look at how there is no one like God; God is in a category by himself.

November Memory Verse:

Psalm 89:6-7  “For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones   and awesome above all who are around him?”

3rd-5th Grade – Our Story, Open Your Eyes

This week we look at the story of the disciples.  The story of the disciples following Jesus is our story as well.  In Bible times it was not unusual for a teacher to ask students to come and learn from him.  The disciples would follow the teacher around everywhere he went.  God sent Jesus to teach us how to live as well.

November Memory Verses:

Matthew 15:16 “Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.””

1 Timothy 1:5 “The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.”
