Sunday’s Coming ~ November 1, 2015

In November we’ll be walking with a man the Bible introduces as Abram.  Soon enough, God changes his name to the more familiar “Abraham.”

It is this man who God chose to enter into a relationship by which God intended to bless everyone else.  We might say, “Abraham was blessed by God to be a blessing to others.”  Myself and two special preachers will walk us through 4 episodes in this man’s life.

This week, we’ll start with God’s first invitation to Abraham to accept God’s blessing by walking away from everything he knew and trust in God’s plan for an uncharted future.  What is that like?  The hardest step on a long journey is usually the first one.

As we walk with Abraham, we’ll come to terms with what we leave behind and what we walk towards.  I hope you’ll lean in with me.

Future guest preachers will include Rev. David Bast (Words of Hope USA) and Rev. Titus Baraka (Words of Hope Uganda), two of our mission partners.

Oh, and it’s communion this week!  We’ll celebrate today by intinction.  That’s when we break off a piece of bread, dip in grape juice, and eat this sign of Christ’s love for us.
