What will your life look like throughout the next year? What will mark the life of Trinity Church?
This week we begin a 3-week series entitled “Make Some Waves.” When you throw a pebble or rock into a pond it causes ripples to extend outward from where it struck the water. In the same way, Jesus desires that our lives impact a lost and hurting world in ways that make waves for his kingdom work.
Will we pursue this life? Will we allow him to do this work in us?
In order for us to live this kind of life, we need to know how it happens. Jesus says it’s all about having a transformed heart and life. A great definition of a follower of Jesus is “Someone who is being transformed into the image of Christ for the sake of others.” We will be exploring this as a church throughout the upcoming program year.
This week we will look at the first part of this definition – transformation. The text we are plumbing is Luke 8:4-15 and the parable of the sower of the seeds. More specifically, we will look at the soil into which the seeds were sown to help us wrestle with how transformation occurs. In the following weeks, Jon and Ben will delve into what it means to be formed in the image of Christ and how we live this out for the sake of others.
I am grateful that we will be on this journey together and am excited to see what God will do in our midst as we will seek him.
