“Knowing what you know about yourself and the world, what are you going to do?”
That question from novelist Walker Percy ended our worship yesterday, following up the harder questions in Obadiah:
- Am I brother’s keeper?
- Where am I being aloof?

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CONNECTING POINT
We’ve come to the final lesson of our series on the Armor of God. We’ve protected ourselves with the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, and the belt of truth. We’ve also armed ourselves with the sword of the Spirit. The last piece of the puzzle goes on our feet. Paul calls it the readiness that comes with the gospel of peace, and it’s a very fitting piece of armor to go on our feet.
Having your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace isn’t about protection like many of the other pieces of armor. It’s being ready to take the gospel to the world, to share it with those who need it. Sharing the gospel is the final command that Jesus gave his followers when he went back to Heaven.
