Sunday’s Coming ~ May 3, 2015

SUNDAY’S COMING
TCE2tallThis week, the Apostle Paul reminds us of our past, declares our present, and offers a grander vision of our future than we can imagine.  In Ephesians 2:11-18 we’ll soon discover how Christ’s death and resurrection include us in God’s family as his very own treasured possession.

Can you think of a time you felt as though you didn’t belong or didn’t measure up?  My prayer this week is that God, by a work of the Holy Spirit, will help each of us experience the hospitality of God’s family and that we will offer that same welcome to those we encounter.

A few other notes about this week: we will welcome new members, we will celebrate communion, and it is the last Sunday before NWC and DC send students home and graduate seniors.

~ Pastor Jon

THREE SERVICES

This Sunday, May 3-May 10 we will be having three Worship Services each Sunday.  Starting times will be 8:30am, 9:50am, and 11:10am.  Sunday School for all ages will be during the 9:50am service. Children & Worship will be dismissed during the 8:30am and 11:10am services.

Our Adult Sunday School Opportunities this week are:

  • Questions of Life (Fellowship Hall)
    • This weeks topic: How do we respond to pain and suffering in our lives and in the world?  Last week we looked at the Scriptures to make sense of this challenging topic.  This week we will discuss how we can faithfully navigate these challenges, both for our own lives, and as we are called to walk with others.  Laird Edman will be facilitating this class.
  • Sunday School Guide (Adult Room 1)

OPEN HOUSE BABY SHOWER SUNDAY MAY 3

Baby Shower 05-03-15Come help celebrate new life within our church family.  We want to create a time to help celebrate, encourage, and support families of new babies in our church.  This will be a time of fellowship, sharing praise and prayer requests, and desserts.  Please join us this Sunday, May 3 from 2-4:00 p.m. in Adult Rooms 3&4.  There will be a prayer and devotional time held at 3:00 p.m.  The following families will be honored: Cassidy Lee Mars (of Brandon & Jesse) and Evelyn Kate Bosma (of Troy and Laura). There will be a card basket for each family, but we encourage this time to be about fellowship and prayer (so please don’t feel the need to bring a gift).  We hope to see you all there!  If you have any questions please contact Megan Willits at 712-360-0796.
