Discernment Series Resources

Welcome!

How do we know God’s will for our lives? What about our life together as a church family? We’re faced with choices all the time. Some are ordinary every-day decisions. Others carry enormous significance and impact the future. Often, it’s not just choosing between “good” and “bad,” but choosing between two good things.  How can we know if it’s truly God’s will and not just our own wants and desires?

In this sermon series titled “Discernment: Discovering God’s Will,” we’ll explore what the Bible teaches about recognizing and responding to God’s presence and activity, in our personal lives and our life together. Most importantly, we’ll explore what it means to be the kind of people who are being transformed so that we can discern and obey God’s will at all times and in all circumstances.

Discernment requires we engage Scripture and prayer in personally transformative ways. You are invited to engage the resources on this page. The goal is to help you create a posture and space where you encounter the Lord in real and personal ways. Our responsibility is to come to the Lord stilled and ready. God longs to make Himself known to His people. Seek and listen for your God.

You are especially encouraged to explore the Spiritual Workout Resource included on this page. Commit to engaging a spiritual workout on a regular basis to experience the transformation Christ longs to gift you.
