Sunday’s Coming ~ October 12, 2014

SUNDAY’S COMING
FIRM FOUNDATIONThis Sunday is the final 15 verses of Jesus’ first sermon to his disciples.  He brings it home with an all-in, right-now invitation and sets the stage for what the kingdom journey looks like.  In rapid-fire succession, Jesus unleashes a barrage of stark contrasts for us to choose between: 2 roads, 2 trees, 2 claims, 2 builders, and 2 destinies.

I am praying that on Sunday, Jesus will reveal himself to you as the one who paves the way, guides the journey, and makes you both safe in the storm and ready to step out in faithful courage.

We also will celebrate as 10 new members become part of our church family!

With you on the journey,

Pastor Jon

  • Fabric of Faithfulness Study (Adult Rooms 3&4)
    • A book study for college students to help learn how to connect what they believe about the world and how they live in the world.  Facilitated by John Fernstrum.

UCI CHRISTMAS PROJECT

UCI ChristmasThis year for our Christmas project we are collecting Christmas presents for Haitian children through the UCI Ministry. This is similar to Operation Christmas child, except we will be filling a one gallon sized plastic bag with gift items. We are asking you to fill the bag with items for the child along with $4.00 to help cover shipping. There will be a sign-up table in the Fellowship Hall again this Sunday if you’d like to pick up a profile  and packet.  If you signed up for child last week but did not have a packet to pick-up, please stop by the sign-up table to pick your packets up as well.  If you want to just give a monetary donation to cover shipping, you can put it an envelope labeled “Haiti Shipping” and give it to Kristin Brouwer.  We will be collecting the bags through the month of October, and they can be placed on the collection table by the office.
