Sunday’s Coming ~ June 8

Ugandans say, “Thank You!”
What a joy to speak with Michelle, Julie, and Val today as they “unpacked” some of their recent memories.  They are first of all so thankful for your prayers, which they did indeed feel along the way.  As you might expect, the stories they’ll tell are amazing and beautiful and very moving.  We’ll here more in the coming weeks, but for today, THANK YOU for your prayers, gifts, and T-shirts.  Here are just a few pictures, including the students in their brand new shirts…

High School only Lock-in on Saturday

There is going to be a High School only (for students who just finished 9th through 12th grade) this Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. at TRC.  Eat supper before you come. Bring sleeping bags and pillows if you want.  Bring board games and movies to watch.  Get ready for a great night of fun and fellowship.  Snacks will be provided.  Please contact Jon Eveland (our summer intern) at 641-660-0861 or Ben Vos at 712-395-2473 with any questions.

WorkAndWorshipSunday’s Coming

Can’t wait for the next installment of “Work and Worship.” This week’s main text is the story of Pentecost in Acts 2 – we’ll rediscover how the gift of the Holy Spirit impacts our work.

John Dykstra is our first “on the job” interview for how faith and work function in his journey.

We’ll also be blessed by and engage in our mission focus of the month.

Just a reminder of our Summer Worship Times.

  • We have one service starting at 10:00 a.m.
  • We have Summer Sunday School for children ages 5 – entering Grade 2.  They will be dismissed during the worship service and you can pick them back up at 11:15 a.m.
  • For Adult Opportunities, the Sunday School Guide class is meeting at 9:00 a.m.  This week we will also be starting a Work and Worship Class.  This class will also meet at 9:00 a.m. and will further explore this topic as class members flesh out what “Work and Worship” means in our daily lives.

IMG_1251A Few Nursery Changes

Over the next few months we are going to be trying some new things in the nursery to best serve the kids, parents, and volunteers.

The first change is going to be happening in the next few weeks.  This week we are going to do a test run with a computerized check-in station for Kingdom Kids and Little Lambs.  There will be someone there to help you sign-in on Sunday.

The Bridge Donations

Bridge Drop Off SiteDon’t forget to bring in your donations you signed up for for The Bridge Supply Drive.  All items need to be to church by June 15.  If you haven’t done so already, please see this weeks bulletin insert for an updated list of needed items, or you can click Updated Bridge Needs List 06-15-14 for the list.  This updated list shows all the items we either have not received any of, or that we could still use more of.
